The moment you all have been waiting for is here. Apple finally shipped their redesigned iPods today! If you go Apple's website now, you will stare at a screen of gorgeous-looking iPods.
What's new? Well, Apple mixed a few more goodies in their secret recipes this time. The nano, touch, classic, and shuffle were all redesigned, transformed into extra-slim music players. The obvious major redesign was the nano. It now features a built-in accelerometer, which lets users rotate the iPod nano sideways to flip through album art with cover flow like the iPod Touch. If you want to shuffle the songs in your new nano, you can give it a shake. It will automatically shuffle your songs in your library. As for the iPod Touch, Apple finally attached a pair of speakers on the bottom. Similar to the iPhone3G, you do not have to carry the dangling earbuds with you anymore. Apple also fitted volume controls on the side to make the iPod Touch even more convenient to use. Better yet, Apple has a bargain sale for the Touch, and it now costs as low as $229, which includes the 2.0 update. However, the iPod classic still remains classic. This time, Apple minimized the options for customers and only made a 120GB version iPod classic. Similar to the new nanos, the classic also features a built-in accelerometer. Alas, here comes the new shuffle. The shuffle looks pretty much the same as the last version. But, Apple added a new switch on the side. Once users flip the switch, the shuffle will begin shuffling (Well, Duh!).
Apple iPod Nano Ad New!
In addition to Apple's glorious production of new iPods, they also shipped the new iTunes 8. The new iTunes does include new handy features also. Yes, as what Apple always reminded their happy customers today, the new iTunes features better music browsing than any other media players. Similar to Windows Media Player, Apple also offered a Genius Sidebar in iTunes 8. However, as you select songs in your library, the Genius Sidebar will display songs that would look great along with it from the iTunes store. Unfortunately for those "non-Internet" users, you do not have Genius. Another great feature, which most people would enjoy, is grid viewing. Select Albums in Grid View, and iTunes 8 displays your entire music library using cover art. To make iTunes look more snazzy, Apple also tossed in a few more cool visualizations in the new iTunes!
